Margie Guy started painting under the guidance of a qualified
teacher in 1997, having spent most of her time building a successful
company specialising in international advertising and also
publishing career guidance magazines in South Africa.
Although art was a senior school subject, she did not have the time
to develop her artistic talents until later in life.
She started working in pastels but moved to oils and has sold most
of her works both locally and internationally.
She started painting miniatures in 2002 and as a member of the
Miniature Art Society of South Africa, she was one of 50 South
African artists whose miniatures were selected and exhibited at the
Worldwide Exhibition of Fine Arts in Miniature held at the
Smithsonian Institute in Washington USA in 2006.
She also exhibited her work at the Worldwide Exhibition of
Miniaturists held in Tasmania in October 2007.
Margie is a member of the Knysna Art Society and paints any subject
which appeals to her.
